On Throwing Away My Toxic Makeup

This week was emotional. At first it was sad, but then it was freeing. So, so freeing. I felt like I was basically waiting for graduation to really take a moment and pull my life together. I finished my last final, and I thought, OK. Let’s do this.  The first step to pulling everything together was some major spring cleaning. Fun fact about me: I’m kind of a hoarder. Not a real hoarder, but I have A LOT of belongings. Random, useless belongings. I save things unnecessarily. I have too many clothing items, too much makeup, too many books… just too many random…

March 2017 Health Protocol Update

The BEST Cauliflower Pizza Crust Pizzas with Betsy Schell (^^ her photography!) After I published my post about the health protocol I’ll be doing for the next 4-6 months, a lot of people asked me to write posts with updates every so often. I am happy to oblige – it’s nice to take you guys along for the ride with me. I’m taking this week “off” for spring break, and then heading to work full-time starting next week! Although, let’s be honest… do I ever really take a week “off”?! (Laughable.) Since it’s Monday, you know what that means… a new episode of Actually…

Graduating from College, My Health Journey, & Where I Go From Here

As I’m writing this, it’s my first Friday being officially done with college, and I’ve never felt more content. It’s technically no different than most Friday nights for me – I’m just hanging out with a face mask on, winding down with some candles, and blogging – but it is different. It still hasn’t completely hit me that I’m done with undergrad, and I don’t know how long it’ll take for that to truly sink in. I’ve been walking around the past few days feeling like I’m forgetting to do something, and feeling guilty that I’ve been letting myself “do whatever I want.” By that,…

Expo West 2017 Recap, Part 2

Aaaand just when you thought Expo West would never end, it’s back again! If you haven’t read Part 1 of my Expo West recap, you can click here to catch up. If you’re ready to move on to Day 2 of the adventure, you’re in the right spot. We started off day 2 at the Simple Mills brunch, which I couldn’t actually eat at because of my protocol, but I really wanted to. I’m a huge fan of Simple Mills products because they have amazing ingredients, and it just proves to people that paleo, gluten-free, grain-free products can be absolutely delicious. Whether or not you have…
