Almond Chive “Cheese” (Vegan / Paleo)

I’m incredibly grateful for the fact that nuts somehow can magically be made into dairy-free “cheese.” I honestly love nut “cheese” more than I ever loved regular cheese. For some reason, I feel like it has a more potent flavor… almost like it has more character to it. Plus, it doesn’t completely destroy my digestion the way that regular dairy does! In L.A., I’m lucky enough to have access to a lot of “fancy” nut cheeses at the grocery store. Kite Hill, Treeline, and Leaf Cuisine are a few popular brands that you might be familiar with. As yummy as…

My Favorite Online Resources for Transitioning to a Healthy Lifestyle

When transitioning into a healthier lifestyle, slow and steady wins the race. It can be really overwhelming to find new products, replace your old ones, get used to a new way of doing things, and sort through all of the “health information” on the Internet. There are a lot of products out there that are marketed as “healthy alternatives,” but how do you know what you can really trust? Flourless Pumpkin Fudge Brownies (Paleo / Vegan)

It’s that time again… Pumpkin fever has taken over. I wanted to wait a bit longer to post a pumpkin recipe (October?), but if Trader Joe’s says it’s pumpkin time, then it’s pumpkin time. Plus, everyone has been posting about pumpkin-flavored things nonstop on social media, so I’m getting the itch. I feel like the pumpkin hype starts earlier and earlier each year – is that just me?! I thought I’d start off with a transitional recipe, because brownies are a year-round kinda thing. Pumpkin brownies are a great way to kick off pumpkin season, just in case you’re not totally in…

The Importance of Self-Care & My Favorite Ways to Show Myself Love

It seems only fitting to follow up my post about the glorification of being busy with a post all about self-care. Do you see a theme here? I think many of us would be much better off if we took more time to slow down and show ourselves some love. I truly believe that self-care is incredibly important. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is. It took me a long time to really swallow this truth – if you don’t take care of yourself first, there is no way you can fully be there for others. Without filling up your own…

The Glorification of Being Busy

I want you to know that it’s okay if you’re not always busy. If I’m being completely honest with you, my ultimate goal in life is to not be busy. I want a “simple life.” One where I don’t feel like I’m always bouncing from task to task, place to place, person to person, cramming as much as I can into each and every day. I want to work as little as I can for maximum output in order to have as much free time as possible. That’s the end goal. Free time means more time to do exactly what fuels my…
