Eating All the Food in Portland, 2017

I cannot believe it’s already been a over week since my trip to Portland! Time flies when you have 8 million things to do. When people found out I was going to Portland, they just kept saying… “Why are you going there?,” with a quizzical look. “Just for fun!” Is it that weird to go on a trip just for fun? If I told you I was going to Vegas, pretty sure no one would confusedly ask me, “Why are you going there?” Anyways, I went to Portland with my friend Alison and her sister Kelly, and we went for a…

Goin’ WILD for Wild Living Foods

Here I am again, torn between telling you about my latest obsession and keeping it my little secret. I don’t want this place to become popular because I selfishly want it all to myself, but I do want more people to know about it because amazing restaurants like Wild Living Foods deserve major recognition. That’s what I’m here for. I’ve…

Unless you make it yourself, pretty much every ice cream on the market contains less-than-ideal ingredients. Even if it’s vegan and gluten-free, you’re almost always guaranteed to find something on the ingredient list that you don’t really want – guar gum, agave, cane sugar… the list goes on. If you’re getting it from an ice cream shop instead of a store, half the time you don’t even know what the ingredients are. That’s usually for a reason, if you catch my drift. And I’m not talking about soft serve.…

Jackie Aanonsen McEwan of Gluten Free Follow Me

This week I’m over-the-moon excited to be featuring a gluten-free goddess who has saved my butt countless times – Jackie Aanonsen McEwan! If you’re not familiar with Jackie, she’s the creator of Gluten Free Follow Me, a gluten-free gal’s bible when it comes to eating out and finding the best restaurants in New York, California, and a ton of other places throughout the world. Eating out at restaurants can be one of the most complicated and frustrating parts about being gluten-free. When I first discovered my gluten intolerance, it was the first thing I worried about. I didn’t want to feel like I was…
