Dallas Travel and Appreciating More Moments

It’s been about a week since I got back from Dallas, but that’s about how long it takes me to get my head back on straight after traveling. I’ll never know how people who constantly travel back and forth for work do it without getting totally burnt out. I am definitely not like that! My trip to Dallas kicked off what will be a very busy next few months of traveling almost every other weekend, though. As an introvert and a highly sensitive person (I know a lot of you are HSPs, too!), I’ve never been someone who likes to…

Seed Cycling to Balance Hormones

Balancing hormones can be an incredibly tricky task. It takes a lot of time, and it requires addressing many different aspects of our lives. It seems like almost everyone I talk to is interested in balancing out their hormones, and it’s something that I am personally working on as well. Balancing hormones can help with a number of different symptoms, including acne, irregular menstrual cycles, amenorrhea, infertility, post-menopausal depression, PCOS…the list goes on. Pumpkin Seed Pesto Cabbage Pasta (Paleo w/ Vegan Option, Whole 30)

Happy October! I always love to kick October off with a pumpkin recipe (of course), but this year I wanted to sneak in a pumpkin-inspired recipe that wasn’t just your typical pumpkin baked good. Pumpkin is great for baking, but I don’t think pumpkin gets enough love outside of the baking world, you know? Let’s talk about pumpkin seeds! For people who struggle with nuts and seeds because…

Almond Chive “Cheese” (Vegan / Paleo)

I’m incredibly grateful for the fact that nuts somehow can magically be made into dairy-free “cheese.” I honestly love nut “cheese” more than I ever loved regular cheese. For some reason, I feel like it has a more potent flavor… almost like it has more character to it. Plus, it doesn’t completely destroy my digestion the way that regular dairy does! In L.A., I’m lucky enough to have access to a lot of “fancy” nut cheeses at the grocery store. Kite Hill, Treeline, and Leaf Cuisine are a few popular brands that you might be familiar with. As yummy as…

My Favorite Online Resources for Transitioning to a Healthy Lifestyle

When transitioning into a healthier lifestyle, slow and steady wins the race. It can be really overwhelming to find new products, replace your old ones, get used to a new way of doing things, and sort through all of the “health information” on the Internet. There are a lot of products out there that are marketed as “healthy alternatives,” but how do you know what you can really trust? This is something I’ve discussed on many recent Actually Adultish podcast episodes, like the episode with Mark Ritz and my most recent one with Courtney Swan. Unfortunately, many companies can label their products…
